Quick sketch with wax pastel. I did this double portrait a while ago and it's been lying around ever since as I rather liked the sketch in this part, it had the effect I was trying to achieve, but I completely messed up the sketch of the other person. I tried to repair it but it just didn't work out. In stead of throwing it away, I decided to keep this part and post it. Portrait for Julia Kay's Portrait Party on Flickr. I remember my grandmother had a look of this type, innocence and acceptance seems to say. One day I realized reviewing old photographs, I had one that was with my grandmother in profile. Our profiles were the same I never would have imagined. Now I realize that over the years, the ancestors return and we have not gone far beyond them. That look is identical to that of my grandmother. The personality is social and not individual, are a set of trends, an echo.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your fine comment Arturo! A very nice thought that you express here and I fully agree. I'm glad I was able to catch that aspect of your personality.
