Trois Femmes

Another painting in the style of Christianne Knops. Again, it's more the work process of Knops that I followed rather than the style itself. It's a process of starting out drawing an abstracted figurative composition, then painting in transparent layers, here and there losing the line sketch, then, where desired, picking up the line work again not necessarily following the original composition, but often correcting or adding to it. Then again adding transparent layers etc. and also opaque patches where ever desired.

Acrylic, pastel
Canvas
50 x 60 cm

Composition roughly based on a quick sketch (below) I did earlier based on a photo. The painting turned out quite different.

An Armchair Story (study)

Quick sketch, more or less meant as an underpainting. Coming back to it, I found it had enough life in it to capture it in this stage.
